If a customer pays using Apple Pay, Google Pay or another digital wallet, the last 4 digits shown on your transaction records will not match their physical card.

This is because digital wallets generate a virtual account number for security.

To validate a transaction, have the customer log onto:

Google Pay:

  1. Open the Google Pay app
  2. Tap on the card used
  3. Scroll down and find the Virtual Account Number
  4. Match the last 4 digits to the receipt

Apple Pay:

  1. Open the Wallet app
  2. Tap on the card used
  3. Tap “More”
  4. View the Device Account Number
  5. Match the last 4 digits to the receipt
