Terminals purchased by the submerchant belong to the submerchant and do not need to be returned to CabCard.

If a submerchant wishes to close their account they must send it to us in written format i.e.; email, SMS or WhatsApp from the contact details we have on record for them. In some circumstances (those with “capabilities", we would take instruction over the phone as we have the call log as evidence should we need it).

  • CabCard receives a request to close the submerchant account from the email address or mobile number that we have on record
  • Add a Comment on the submerchant account about the account closure and put a link to the Missive communication as evidence
  • Go to Edit submerchant and untick Active
  • Go to Attached Plan
  • Select Modify plan attachment
  • Add today's date and an End date and select Update attached plan
  • Go to Terminals and select View
  • Copy the SIM card ID and Terminate the SIM on the DataSIM portal. If the SIM is in contract it can be suspended from use but we must replace the SIM contract with a new SIM (failure to do so will result in CabCard paying for the suspended SIM until it's contract ends)

We now need to look at whether there are unpaid transactions that have not been paid out and if there are any refunds that have not yet been processed. (Chargebacks -  I don't think this will be relevant, an adjustment for the chargeback amount and chargeback fee is applied to the submerchant account at the time the CB is raised. We should have clawed back what we are due to. If we haven't already we won't be able to now). Further thought on this required.

  • Go to the Sales tab on the submerchant account

  • Outstanding refunds to be actioned
  • SIM to be terminated/suspended and replaced depending on SIM contract
