Which mobile network does my terminal use?
Understand which mobile networks are used
Your terminal connects to mobile networks in order to process transactions and do other functions, such as download software updates. To achieve this, your terminal uses a specially configured SIM card, similar to the one in your mobile phone.
Please note that you must only use the SIM card that was supplied along with your terminal for this purpose. Other SIM cards will be unable to connect to CabCard's secure servers.
Your terminal is configured, by default, to connect automatically to the mobile network with the strongest and best quality signal. For example, if you're in an area with strong O2 coverage, but poor Vodafone coverage, your terminal will select the O2 network. This mode of operation is known as automatic network selection. We recommend that you use this mode as much as possible.
Occasionally, it can be helpful to temporarily configure your terminal to use manual network selection. For example, there may be a problem with one of the networks in your area. In this case, you can force your terminal to only connect to the network which you specify, using manual selection of a GPRS network.
